I loved this animation. The sound quality was great. The story was great. The animation was great. It takes alot of skill to tell a good story without any words at all. I feel anyone can understand the story and it can also make people relate to it. You can definitely feel the emotion there.

I wish I could give this more stars, it honestly deserves it. You put in a lot of time and effort into perfecting this. This made it to my top 5 favorites of all time here.

I also liked the Powerpuff Girl/Scott Pilgrim feel to it as well.I can definitely see the inspiration behind it. Keep up the great work, you've earned a fan who can't wait to see more work from ya.

BryanV responds:

Thanks! You're right, a lot of my art style is influenced by Powerpuff Girls, not so much Scott Pilgrim though.

Loved it. Absolutely Loved it. Great Songs, great [Oak's grandson's name] references, and I thought it captured that beloved scene well. Although I always choose fire, regardless, I still thought it was very relate-able. Keep up the great work :)

We love you too, random citizen!

I thought it was very well put together. I wish this animation was around when I was in school. My school had alot of bullying going on, and we had anti-bully sessions once a month for every class. I was what we call a "FreshMentor", where the upper classmen step up to help stop bullying, and be a friend to all.

The audio was good, it was clear and well written. The animation was good as well. I think you captured your goal completely. Keep up the great work.

P4DDDY responds:

Thank you for the feedback :) Good on you for being a "FreshMentor". Bullying such a difficult situation and can leave people feeling very alone. It's people like you who allow others to get through tough times and see a light at the end of the tunnel. Good job!

Ha, that is very true about facebook. One of the big reasons that drove me away. Also liked the reference list. Though I wish there could have been more story content, hence why I gave it a 3. But I definitely would watch more content from ya. Simple, yet effective.

RedAndrew responds:

Thank you man. It means a lot when peole tell me they would love to see more stuff from me. I feel motivated :D

I'll be honest, I had no idea what any of the lyrics meant. However I thought the animation was nice for typography. The colors were nice and the texts showed up clearly and smoothly. The song was also catchy. I gave it a 4 because I wish there would be more graphics to go along with the text, but that's just my opinion.

Damokles responds:

Thanks for the review!

I have to agree with your opinion and I guess that I will try to follow your advice for my next project, if I ever do something in this style again.

My score is coming from a variety of reasons, so I'll break them down into categories.
Story:
The story is definitely original, but I feel it was ruined between mediums and concept. It doesn't make much sense to me that Bill know's who both people are, but doesn't realize it until later. I do appreciate that you led us to understand why Bill is tied up in the first place.

Animation:
I wasn't a fan of the animation on-top of photographs. I think it could have really looked up for ya if it was all drawn out or all live-action (Which wouldn't be an animation then). I would have also liked to have seen characters other than "Stick Dudes", it seems very common that I feel it's overused at this point. Even basic character concepts could help. Even character differentiation would help, this way we know which character is which. Maybe make one red, or blue, etc, not all one color.

Audio:
The audio was "Meh". wasn't terrible, but wasn't great. I felt there was alot of background sound, and echo in the mic. I understand mics aren't created equal, but there are alot of tutorials out there that can fix it. Newgrounds User and Voice Actor "Rice Pirate" made a great budget-friendly tutorial as well, I would recommend seeing that tutorial. I personally think a pop-filter would help reduce the white noise and echo. You can put a sock over the mic or even nylon leggings. You can also put pillows and blankets up on the walls of a small room, and record in there to reduce echo.

I do see in your description that you're working on adding drawn objects and sets. I'm glad that you do realize the concept behind it and going the distance to fix it in the future. That tells me that you are trying, and want to improve. I applaud that. So please don't give up. You can accomplish your goal.

plasticapple responds:

Thank you so much for your constructive criticism. It means a lot to me that someone actually took the time to describe what was good and what wasn't. Even if they rated it one star. I'll definitely look at the tutorials you recommended and I will take your recommendations for what I should do different. Thank you again. :)

For it being made in an hour, it's pretty smooth. I would have liked to seen a story with it though, or atleast audio of some kind. Definitely think you can make some good quality animations with more invested time.

HorogornWheels responds:

I will keep working on it and getting a storyline along with it thanks for the suggestions happy New year! ^^

I thought the animation was well put together, I can tell it was all drawn by hand which is something I appreciate as an animator. However I gave this a 2.5 because the audio was all over the place in terms of quality and loudness. It was quiet in some spots, louder in others, and the mic quality has alot of distortion to it. The second reason I gave it a 2.5 is because I felt the pauses took way too long between scenes, and perhaps that took away from the overall quality. And my third reason is that the story seems half written, and I think it would have looked up in your favor to have had a complete battle, from start to finish. I didn't want to give it a super low score because I can tell you did put alot of effort into it, and that animation isn't bad for what it is. However I don't think it's at its potential yet.

LinkAsh responds:

if in fact that I made long ago, and eh learned a lot more now if I put my effort, but the audio did not know much yet and so tieene such poor quality, thank you very much for honesty seriously appreciate it: D and will come top animations when get a digitizing tablet: D and encourage my knowledge on the subject

I'd buy it if I saw this commercial on the tele. Liked the transitions, thought the animation was very smooth, and the voice was good too. Let's be honest here, who wouldn't want to buy something from what sounds like a monster truck announcer.

scotcampbell responds:

Thanks, it was fun to make....ha ha ha! yeah, definitely got that monster truck thing going on.

I feel like this could of had so much more potential. I understand this is experimental but there wasn't any kind of story, even with the South Park style intro. I feel that this may have been alot better had there been a story behind it. I'm also not a fan of the Kim Jong Slug. It really feels like this thing was just slapped together.

i did like the zoom out from earth though.

LSanimation responds:

Thanks :) I'll try harder next time. This was made in about 2 hrs on my slowass laptop :D
